Ball bearings


These bearings use balls as a rolling element and are characterized by a point of contact between such balls and the raceways. Even though they can rotate very quickly, they cannot withstand heavy loads.

Roller bearings


Rollers are the rolling element of this type of bearings. They present a contact line between the rollers and the raceways, and this allows them to have a higher load coefficient compared to ball bearings of the same size. Achievable speed is lower than that of ball bearings because of the increased friction due to larger contact.

Needle roller bearings


These specific bearings are equipped with cylindrical rollers and their diameter appears to be small compared to their length.

The modified roller / raceway profile prevents stress peaks to extend the bearing service life.
